Charity writing digest: giving reports, leadership excellence, and decades of wisdom
There's been so much interesting and important writing about charities since my last newsletter.Much debate followed the publication of CAF UK Giving 2019 and IoF’s new research with PwC - Fundraising for Impact with a number of national newspapers including the Guardian picking up the story (Fewer Britons donate to charities after scandals erode trust). This provoked a very interesting and well thought out response from the charity sector, including Karl Wilding (Are fewer people supporting charities?), Daniel Fluskey in this Twitter thread, and Mark Phillips (What does the latest research tell us about the state of fundraising?).Here's a flavour of some other great charity sector writing:On leadership and governanceRaising the bar of leadership excellence - Rita Neligan Medcalf and Kevin DownsworthCharity leadership in the age of populism - Lucy Caldicott6 questions trustees should ask their fundraisers - Susie HillsEffective delegation - Management CentreA golden formula for generating trust - Kate LeeHow to survive non profit founder syndrome - Rachel MuirOn fundraisingLegacy Fundraising inspiration from the USA - Claire RoutleyFundraising was not and is not 'broken' - Ian MacQuillinThe Donor Pyramid and Marketing Funnel Have Changed - Claire AxelradHow to be more consistent and transform your fundraising results - Vanessa ChaseSeven fundraising tips from two decades of wisdom - John BaguleyThanks but no thanks.
