I really enjoyed Nana Crawford's presentation at the recent Leadership Summit organised by Fundraising Everywhere. You can still catch all the sessions here. Nana was speaking about how finding joy outside work helped make her a better leader. Here are a few of my notes and pics from her excellent session.

"I went to my first class in 2020. How can I move this fast and make it look effortless? Now I do shows and am part of a Samba School.
"Lesson 1. Finding your joy is important for your mental health. Your mind really does matter. I could celebrate my successes.
"What are my basics, my non-negotiables as a leader? I learned to believe in myself. Believe the work you're doing will get you there. Learn to experience new challenges. Look at situations differently: navigating new relationships, expand the mind, find inspiration on the way.
"Lesson 2. Movement can help your confidence. Take up your space, but without taking away from others. There's beauty in being able to step back, follow others' lead. I project confidence when I present. Samba helped me understand my body & how to use it to project joy.
